Energy. That’s the perfect word to sum up the atmosphere at today’s Sonic Lunch in Liberty Plaza. The Ragbirds took the stage to what was possibly the biggest crowd of the season to date. Dancing, jumping, clapping, and stomping added a sense of excitement to the performance and engaged the audience all afternoon long.
Lead singer, Erin Zindle, may seem quiet and reserved when speaking to the crowd, but the second the band gets going, she’s an energetic force with a beautiful, earthy voice. Perfectly complimenting her tone were an array of instruments from violins and guitars to African drums and banjos. This eclectic mix of instruments and sounds is what separates The Ragbirds from other folk or world bands.
If you missed this brilliant show, no worries. The Ragbirds are Ann Arbor natives and have shows coming up throughout the area. Check out their website for more info on upcoming shows.
Just a reminder that there won’t be a Sonic Lunch performance next week due to the Ann Arbor Art Fair. Speaking of which, have you checked out our preview of the fair yet?
